Hundreds of Local Ugandans Vaccinated for COVID-19 at Kristina Health Center
In June 2022, the staff at Kristina Health Center conducted an outreach campaign regarding the importance of vaccination against COVID-19.
Traveling to the region’s farthest reaches, including villages accessible only on foot, and by advertising over regional radio, the KHC team generated awareness of the clinic’s free vaccination services. In one week, over 450 local Ugandans made their way to KHC to receive their shots.
While there, many patients also received additional services, from nutrition counseling to vaccination against other illnesses. Meanwhile KHC’s nurses held educational sessions on feminine hygiene, pre-natal nutrition and health, and a host of other topics — all while children played on KHC’s open grounds and drank from its two wells.
While COVID’s impact in Uganda has been mercifully light, we are very pleased to be able to provide this vital service to the local community.
